A winter weather advisory has been issued for Oregon’s mountain passes through this evening with heavy snow expected mainly above 4,000 feet. Scattered snow showers are expected through Thursday morning.
Snowfall totals of up to eight inches will be possible and could make travel difficult especially on Santiam Pass (Highway 20) and Willamette Pass (Highway 58) east of Salem and Eugene.
Snow levels will hover around 3,500 feet before dropping to 2,000 feet in the evening.
Beyond this snowstorm, conditions are expected to mostly dry out across Western Oregon for an extended period, following a long-stretch of wet weather.
