A holiday cocktail from Hey Love.

Hey Love

With the weather getting chillier, Portlanders are venturing out to find warmth and comfort in a hot boozy beverage, peppermint or eggnog optional, amid the grey Pacific Northwest winter. Some Portland bars and restaurants go all-out for the holidays, decking out their spaces with Christmas lights or snowflakes. Others just add a few toddies or spiked eggnogs to the menu. While bars, restaurants, and pop-ups around town have no shortage of wintery libations, it’s far from the only way to celebrate the season.

This year, seasonal goodies take the form of everything from creamy cocktails to Nordic mulled wine topped with gingerbread cookies, with spots around town offering something unique, new, or culturally traditional to Portland’s diverse and delicious holiday food-and-drink-scape. For more Christmas and Hanukkah revelry, keep an eye on Eater Portland — more maps and guides are coming soon.

Note: Health experts consider dining out to be a high-risk activity for the unvaccinated; it may pose a risk for the vaccinated, especially in areas with substantial COVID transmission. The latest CDC guidance is here; find a COVID-19 vaccination site here.
