Volunteers Nancy Rasmussen, left, and husband Steve Rasmussen, center, look for whales from The Whale Watching Center in Depoe Bay on the first day of Whale Watch Week.

Whale Watch Week kicked off Wednesday in person for the first time since 2019 after being canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. More than 15 sites along the Oregon Coast offer a chance to watch thousands of gray whales migrate south through Oregon’s waters through Sunday.
