West Salem’s cross country program had quite a state championship meet Saturday at Lane Community College. 

The Titans finished third in the Class 6A boys team race with a score of 98, and the girls placed sixth with 163.

Jesuit swept both the boys and girls titles at 6A. Sprague’s boys (489) were 17th, and South Salem’s girls (462) were 16th.

Individually, Jack Meier placed fourth in the 6A boys race with a time of 15:20.7. 

Individually on the girls side, the top Mid-Valley finisher for 6A was North Salem’s Nelida Dalgas, who was sixth with a time of 18:26.0. 

In Class 5A, the Dallas girls placed sixth, with Kelsey Rodli leading the way with an 11th-place finish. The Silverton girls were 13th. 

In Class 4A, Stayton’s girls placed fifth as a team, led by Haley Butenschoen’s 11th-place finish and Hope Bridge’s 12th-place finish. Cascade’s boys were 12th. 

Kennedy was 12th in Class 3A/2A/1A girls, and Western Christian was eighth in 2A/1A boys. 

Class 6A
