The fall sports postseason is in full swing, and many Mid-Valley athletes are having big performances to try to earn a trophy for their schools.
The Statesman Journal Athlete of the Week nominees this week are:
- Emma Brewer, Salem Academy volleyball
- Megan Smith, Sprague volleyball
- Esteban Mendez, South Salem football
- Zayvian Webster, Dallas football
There is information below on each nominee. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving. The poll closes at noon Thursday.
Emma Brewer, Salem Academy volleyball: As of late last month, she was second on the team in kills (398), first in digs (371) and second in service aces (66).
Megan Smith, Sprague volleyball: She had 35 assists and 12 digs in the Olympians’ playoff win against McNary.
Esteban Mendez, South Salem football: He scored three touchdowns for the Saxons in a win against North Salem.
Zayvian Webster, Dallas football: He had 112 yards and three touchdowns in the Dragons’ win against Crescent Valley.
