The Crawford Crossing subdivision in Turner has been part of the focus of a recall election against on of the city's councilors.

A city councilor from Turner is facing a recall after what those seeking to remove him from office have described as “bullying behavior” both in online posts and in the neighborhood in which he lives.

Voters in Turner will decide in a Jan. 3 recall election whether to remove Mark McCracken, a city councilor since 2021 who has over two years left on his term.

“He’s a bully and I think his actions, the culmination of his actions, really speak to his character of his person,” said Richard Horner, the chief petitioner who has lived in Turner since 2019.

Ballots for the election are scheduled to be mailed Dec. 14.

They must be returned by 8 p.m. Jan. 3 to Marion County’s main office at 555 Court Street or in the drop box at Turner City Hall.
