The suspect in a Dec. 1 shooting in Salem that left a woman seriously injured was arrested in Portland on Thursday night, according to Salem Police.
The 35-year-old suspect was taken to Multnomah County Jail and will be transferred and arraigned in Marion County, Salem Police said.
The suspect faces domestic violence charges including attempted murder in the second degree with a firearm, assault in the first degree with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police responded Dec. 1 at 7:30 a.m. to reports of a person with a gunshot wound near the intersection of Water St. NE and South St. NE, according to police.
A 24 year-old woman was located with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Salem Health with life-threatening injuries. She was transferred to a Portland-area hospital for ongoing treatment and remains hospitalized from her injuries, according to police.
