Sprague graduate Kaylee Mitchell won the NCAA West Regional cross country meet Friday for Oregon State. 

Mitchell, a redshirt junior who graduated from Sprague in 2018, ran a 19:19.2 at the regional meet. 

She now will compete in the NCAA championships Nov. 19 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. 

The Beavers, who finished fourth as a team at the West Regional, will be one of 31 teams competing at nationals, after they were selected Saturday. 

In this year’s Pac-12 championships, Mitchell finished 12th with a time of 19:41.2.

Mitchell finished 77th at nationals last season, and 20th the season before. 

As a senior for the Olympians, Mitchell finished ninth at the OSAA Class 6A championships with a time of 17:51.4. 

After graduating from Sprague, Mitchell spent her freshman season at Seattle Pacific, before transferring to Oregon State.
