South Salem's Zach Wusstig (3) is brought down Nov. 4 by Sherwood's Elijah Douglass (25) and Brayden Ross (23) during the 6A state playoff game.

South Salem’s Zach Wusstig will be playing at the next level at Portland State.

The Saxons’ defensive back and wide receiver announced his commitment to the Vikings Monday on Twitter.

Wusstig was recruited as a defensive back by Portland State defensive backs coach Colin Fry.

“Coach Fry is an amazing coach, and I know he can and will help me grow as a player and man,” Wusstig said. “I just really felt at home at Portland State and could see myself there for four years.”
