Oregon State Beavers running back Damien Martinez (6) rushes against the Washington Huskies during the third quarter at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium in Seattle on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022.

It was a game of missed opportunities for Oregon State.

The Beavers lost 24-21 on a field goal in the final seconds at Washington on Friday night.

Oregon State had leads of 7-0, 14-7 and 21-14. But they left points on the field early in the game with poor redzone offense.

The Beavers’ second drive of the night went 63 yards to the Washington 7-yard line, but the Beavers were stopped on fourth down.

On its next drive, Oregon State went down to the Washington 15-yard line, but again was stopped on fourth down.

So the Beavers entered the redzone on their first three drives, but came away with only 7 points.

That was the difference in the game.

It was a tough setback after Oregon State had won three games in a row and entered the AP poll at No. 24 and CFP committee rankings at No. 23.
