Editor’s note: The time of the Las Vegas Bowl has been changed from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 a.m., and it now will be televised on ESPN instead of ABC. The changes are due to the NFL moving the Raiders-Patriots game out of the night-game slot Dec. 18 to an earlier time. The Las Vegas Bowl is being played at the Raiders’ home, Allegiant Stadium Dec. 17, and the Raiders need time to switch the field back to their field.
Oregon State will play in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 17 against Florida, it was announced Sunday.
The No. 17 Beavers will try to finish with 10 wins for the first time since 2006 and the third time in program history.
Oregon State is in a bowl game for the second consecutive season, after losing the LA Bowl last season to Utah State.
The Beavers went 6-3 in the Pac-12 this season and are coming off a 38-34 comeback win against rival Oregon.
Florida is 6-6 this season, including 3-5 in the SEC.
“Our players are excited about the opponent,” Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith said. “Our players are excited to go to Las Vegas. A big-time stadium on the West Coast. I couldn’t be looking forward to it more.”
The game is set for 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, home to the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
Allegiant Stadium also hosted the Pac-12 title game on Friday, where Utah defeated USC.
The Beavers will be looking for their first bowl game victory since 2013, when they won the Hawaii Bowl against Boise State.
