Oregon keeps winning on the field and rising in the polls.
On the heels of their resounding 45-30 victory against then-No. 9 UCLA Saturday at Autzen Stadium, the Ducks moved to No. 8 in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY AFCA Coaches polls Sunday morning.
It’s the highest ranking of the season in both polls for Oregon (6-1), which has won six straight and is in first place in the Pac-12 Conference standings at 4-0.
The Ducks were No. 10 in the AP and No. 9 in the USA TODAY poll last week.
The top nine is identical in both polls, as Georgia, which beat the Ducks in the season-opener on Sept. 3, is the unanimous No. 1, followed by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Clemson, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 TCU and No. 9 Oklahoma State.
In the AP poll, Southern California is ranked 10th, the Bruins dropped to 12th and Utah is No. 14.
In the USA TODAY poll, USC is 11th, Utah 14th and UCLA 15th.
The Ducks are on the road the next two weeks with games at California (3-4, 1-3) on Saturday and at Colorado (1-6, 1-3) on Nov. 5. before a tough two-game stretch at home against Washington (6-2, 3-2) on Nov. 12 and Utah (5-2, 3-1) on Nov. 19.
