Officers responded to a report of a shooting Tuesday night near North Columbia Boulevard

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man is dead after a shooting in North Portland on Tuesday night, according to Portland Police Bureau.

On Tuesday at 9:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting near North Peninsular Avenue and Columbia Boulevard. Upon arrival officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

Both officers and paramedics provided medical aid but did not survive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No arrests have been made at this time, police said.

Portland Police Homicide Unit detectives have launched an investigation and the area around the 9300 block of North Peninsular Avenue is closed.

The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed cause of death and family members have been notified.
