A man was arrested on Wednesday for alleged attempted murder causing the area of River Road and Quinaby Road NE to be closed for several hours as police worked to get him into custody, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement arrived at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2600 block of Quinaby Road NE. It took SWAT officers several hours to negotiate with him as he was located inside a residence, according to a news release.
After several hours of negotiations, the situation was resolved, and officers took the man into custody without further incident at about 11:39 p.m. Quinaby Road was closed for over seven hours.
The man was taken to the Marion County Jail. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
