A 33-year-old Beaverton man died Christmas Eve in a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Commercial and Owens Streets SE, according to the Salem Police Department.
Police said a preliminary investigation determined Stephen William Sacchi was southbound on Commercial St. SE at about 6 p.m. when his truck veered out of his lane and onto the curb on the west side of the street, striking a tree.
Patrol officers and paramedics extracted Sacchi from the truck and he was transported to Salem Health hospital where he died a short time later.
The incident remains under investigation.
